WELCOME TO KHMER-TEMPLE.COM - our web site that was launched as part of our overall public sites featuring information about Asia and especially Thailand.

Khmer-Temple.com covers Khmer temples and Khmer sanctuaries, which dot Thailand's provinces, especially the North-East, also called Isan, as well as the border provinces of Cambodia and Laos.

As part of our trips throughout Thailand and Cambodia we have visited many of these amazing temples and structures. We also visited some of the Khmer sites in the Laos province of Champasak.

During the second half of 2008 it became increasingly difficult to visit the Khmer sanctuaries along the border between Thailand and Cambodia. Several were closed completely, like Khao Phra Viharn and others were still open but with restrictions to take pictures. Until this border dispute is resolved it is best to check with the authorities like the Thailand Travel Authority TAT before taking the long drive to those locations.

This is a photographic journey with no general travel information.
