Ku Phra Kona

Middle and southern Prang

Ku Phra Kona is located in the district of Suwannaphum, which should not be confused with the new airport in Bangkok, but is located in Roi Et province. The three prangs here are located in a modern temple.  The middle prang was remodeled during the 20th century and is now a tiered structure with Buddha images in niches. One of the prangs is covered with a roof and some of the lintels have fallen down. One is still visible on the east side of the prang under the roof showing scenes of the Ramayana epos. Ku Phra Kona is also dated back to the 11th century A.D.
